River Rendezvous: A Confluence of Legal and Planning Issues

The conference is tentatively scheduled to start at 9:30 am Wednesday October 27 and concluded around 4:00 pm Thursday October 28.  The South Dakota Planners Association has reserved a block of rooms at the Ramkota Inn (605 224-2877) at a special conference rate.  Mention the SDPA when making reservations. It is strongly recommended that you call now to reserve rooms because this time of the year rooms may not be available due to pheasant hunting.  The feature presenter will be nationally recognized land use lawyer, planner and author Dwight Merriam FAICP.  The sessions topics are yet to be determined and we are welcome suggested topics.   Please invite all interested in land use issues.  Watch for details on www.sdplanners.com and other sources.

It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the official website of the South Dakota Planners Association (SDPA).  SDPA is an association with membership open to planners, consultants, engineers, governmental personnel, planning commissioners, elected officials, attorneys, faculty, students or anyone interested in land use planning and regulation.  Please see the details on becoming a member of SDPA elsewhere on this site. Once you become a PAID SDPA member you will be granted access to additional features on this site. SDPA is committed to assisting governments, developers, residents, and citizens in making sound and effective land use decisions and policies.  Simply, we are here to help to promote growth that is manageable, productive, sustainable, and attractive for the betterment of South Dakota’s communities.

The South Dakota Planners Association provides professional development opportunities and is a forum for members and others interested in land use and development.  SDPA hosts an annual Planning and Zoning conference which is an excellent opportunity to hear from land use experts on the latest techniques, regulations, and trends in planning.  Details of the conference and other events are provided on this site.  SDPA also participates in the conversation with policy makers in regards to land use policies and we offer our expertise.
